Three weeks after the Paris
show it sure was time for us to see Queen+Paul Rodgers perform again.
download tracks from the official Queen+Paul Rodgers site and other sound and videofiles from the internet
had already made clear that the
show had improved a lot. (The Vienna guitar solo e.g. really gave me goose-bumps
and the audience was great I think.) While we
were waiting in front of the Sportpaleis in Antwerp we spoke to people
who had seen the Frankfurt show the night
before and they told us it was perhaps the best
show so far. Where we thought Brixton was intimate and okay for starters
and Paris was great, the show in Antwerp proved
to be really fantastic. Again we had all the luck in the world to be
standing first & second row in front of the stage. By now the
catwalk is used a lot, making the interaction with the audience complete.
Part of the audience was a little tame,
but perhaps the huge numbers of Dutch people present in Antwerp
Sportpaleis really made up for that. Compliments though
to the Belgian audience and also security for their outstanding decent
behaviour.
After the show I finally bought my merchandise! Together with some
die-hards I waited outside for Brian, Roger and Paul,
but this tme (with three different exits) we had little hope to succeed,
but when almost every fan had left, we spotted
Brian leaving in a car, and he did spot us also. He had the light inside
the car turned on and waved goodbye to us.
Where there was no time for signing or shaking hands, we of course
considered this the highlight of our waiting :-)
