Mandela 90 At Hyde Park
27th June 2008
On June 26th I travelled to London together with 7 other friends for the Mandela 90 concert at Hyde Park.
On the day of arrival we went to see the We Will Rock You musical. On the 28th we travelled to Hyde Park.
What a night this was! And what a huge audience. We enjoyed every act. It was great to see that Amy Winehouse did make it to perform.
She's really very talented. I've read that about 50.000 people attended this show and as soon as Queen and Paul Rodgers
were announced for their act the audience really exploded with enthusiasm! For a die-hard Queen fan like me this was great to experience.
The Q+PR act was really top of the bill and when they started with the intro of One Vision, you could say that even
Freddie Mercury appeared at the show! Brian, Roger and Paul were great. Brian just played at his best! Tie Your Mother Down... sensational.
The Show Must Go On... the complete audience joined in!
Of course every pair of hands joined the clapping and waving during We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions.
The whole audience became one voice during All Right Now.
After the concert we went to a pub and at the very moment we raised our glasses to celebrate this extraordinary evening with
Queen and Paul Rodgers as a true highlight, on one of the large tv-screens in the pub the video clip of Bohemian Rhapsody started...
A peculiar coincidence indeed! Again, what a night this was. Cheers to Brian, Roger and Paul!
(and of course Spike, Jamie and Danny)
