My third
concert of this tour.
This time I went to see the show with a group of friends. One of them had
fallen ill a few days earlier and he had to cancel
this concert. As this Rotterdam show would be his only 2008 concert he
would attend, and being one of my closest friends
it felt so bad he could not be with us. This morning he had already sold
his ticket. Just as we left home we could arrange a seating ticket
for him and he had to make a split second decision if he would go or not.
He did go and had a great evening!
We all had a great evening because this show must be one of the best of
this tour.
Sound was awesome, Roger and Brian played awesome and though Paul had some
problems with his voice he managed extremely well.
The opening was slightly altered, from the Cosmos Rocks intro straight into
Tie Your Mother Down. Surf's Up...School's Out! was played in full later on.
Also We Believe was played. As always Roger's solo was one of the
highlights of the show. A very wise decision of the Band to
add A Kind Of Magic to that solo, with Roger on leadvocal. This evening I
Want It All was another highlight. Extremely powerful.
BIJOU of course is a jewel in the crown on it's own. It's
so amazing how brilliantly Brian plays the guitar on this one.
The waiting outside and especially inside the venue before the show starts
seems endless but the more-than-2-hours-show itself
is
over and gone before you know it.
The Dutch audience was very enthusiastic and sang along with almost every
track.
What a night this was... Afterwards we waited at the exit for one hour but
only saw Queen manager Jim Beach walk by us.
